The National Park Service offers free admission on these days for 2020

Edward Abbey preached something so very true in his esteemed autobiography Desert Solitaire: "Wilderness. The word itself is music."

It's time to start planning out adventures to our public lands. With the arrival of a new year, the National Park Service recently announced which days all 419 units of the national park service will be free to enter, enjoy, and explore for 2020. While purchasing an annual admission pass is one of the best ways to support your public lands, daily entrance fees will be waived for the following dates this year:

  • January 20: Martin Luther King Day
  • April 18: The start of National Park Week
  • August 25:  In celebration of the National Park Service's birthday
  • September 26: National Public Lands Day (do some stewardship!)
  • November 11: Veterans Day
